Shortee is recognized as one of the most diverse and technically skilled female DJs worldwide, spinning Drum & Bass, Breaks, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Rock and House.
Since 1995, she has released countless mix tapes and played alongside with such world-class artists as Craze, Q-bert, KRS One, Method Man, Mixmaster Mike, Roni Size, Carl Cox.
She was the first female to produce a turntablist album (“The Dreamer” in 1999), a battle record and an instructional DJ DVD series. Her unique contribution to the art of scratching and beat juggling for the last 13 years earned her a spot as the only female DJ featured in Doug Pray’s critically acclaimed movie SCRATCH. Her DJ sets are well known whether solo or as part of a group (URBAN ASSAULT). Recently she joined forces with Reid Speed and MC Tali to form QUEENS OF THE JUNGLE, a 4 turntable female D&B crew. Shortee has been named “queen of the scratch world” by the DJ Times and ranked 1st Female Hip Hop DJ worldwide by SheJay Magazin. She´s currently nominated for the categories of Best Female DJ and Best International Act in the 2008 Drum & Bass Awards (UK).
